Program:

Community nurses and other field professionals such as social workers, physical therapists, CNAs, and hospice care professionals, etc. are especially equipped to support families to protect their health and well-being through simple, effective measures. Understanding that environmental exposures can impact health - asthma, cancers, developmental delays - is the first step in helping families to protect themselves. Healthcare providers have the enviable role of educating, caring for, and guiding people toward healthier options.  Some of the products designed for use in homes and schools are also some of the most contaminated products.

Come learn about resources and tools for improving the health of those you care for.

The Academy of Natural Sciences, Center for Environmental Policy and the Women's Health & Environmental Network have specifially developed this workshop for community health nurses and other health professionals working in the field.

Center for Environmental Policy

The goals of the Center for Environmental Policy (CEP) at The Academy of Natural Sciences are to evaluate key issues of environmental policy, facilitate dialogues and decision-making on environmental topics, and inform the public from both an academic as well as practical perspective.  The CEP will answer the need for a non-partisan, science-based organization that is capable of accessing and guiding a myriad of public and private stakeholders.

For more information on current CEP projects and initiatives, please see www.ansp.org/environmental/index.php
